Recent Choir Performances • World Religion Day - Greensboro, NC Sunday January 16, 2011 OHF was invited to open the Greensboro Interfaith Celebration of World Religion Day with 15 minutes of uplifting and inspiring music that promotes Religious Unity. The event highlighted the common threads amongst the various religions and urged all to come together in fellowship and on one accord. The program was held at the Quaker Friends Meeting House in Greensboro and is an annual event. • Martin Luther ing Day Observance -Thomasville, NC Monday January 17, 2011 Celebrations and observances were held in many places on this day. OHF participated in the observance sponsored by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority of Thomasville, NC. The morning started with a community breakfast, and was followed by the 12th annual celebration program featuring a keynote address by Dr. Yvonne Johnson, former mayor of Greensboro, NC. • OHF ReelTalk - Durham, NC Sunday, January 23, 2011 As part of the National MLK Day of Service Community Cinema events held across the country we will be presenting the documentary film “A Village Called Versailles” and facilitating a dialogue based on the film. Movie will begin at 3:00PM - 5:30PM at the Durham South Regional Library in DUrham, NC - 4505 S. Alston Avenue Upcoming Workshops/Retreats • Mini-Workshop and Rehearsal with OHF A&E Director Eric Dozier - Durham, NC Saturday, September 26, 2011 Join us on Saturday from 10am to 3pm for an extended workshop/rehearsal gathering. We'll lock in the music for our singing engagement on the 27th as well as learn some new pieces from Eric Dozier. • Participation in Worship Service at Quaker Friends Center with mini concert immediately following Sunday, September 27, 2011 • 3-Day Workshopwith guest clinicial Raymond Wise, Ph.D.- Durham, NC October 7-9, 2011 This will be our third annual weekend workshop with Dr. Wise. A music weekend mixing the learning of music, vocal technique and gospel history, with loads of fellowship and fun. The weekend culminates with a concert performance by all participants. UpcomingTours • International Service Tour - TBD, Africa Summer 2012 Start getting your passports, immunizations, vacation time and funds together now! We are taking the choir abroad in 2012 to do service and singing in Africa. We have not yet chosen the specific location, but are pursuing several promising connections. As details are confirmed, we will continue to update you, so in the meantime - OFHians, prepare to fly the friendly skies.
